Inspiron 1100 and display problems

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 with the 845 intel chipset for video. I am running Suse 9. I have read the many posts about this.

I downloaded the patch to increase the video memory. It will work when I apply the patch, but it goes back to the small display when I reboot.

I have tried all the ways I have read to configure this.

How can I make it apply everytime I boot.

Thanks.

Try adding the command to /etc/rc.d/rc.local
