Hi all

I have an inspiron 8200 and just installed RH9. Everything is working pretty nice, but I noticed when I left the machine unplugged that the screen turns dark, and when I touch a key to resume the graphics are all messed up. The screen is "split" horizontally in the middle and is completely unuseable -- I have to kill X and restart it. What is wierd is when I use Fn-ESC to suspend, and then hit the power button to resume, things work well. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

I am using the generic driver that RH installs. I have not upgraded to the nvidia driver as I have read that it has extreme problems on resuming from suspend.

i have the same laptop and had the same problem. what i did was i went into my BIOS and disabled the option for it to turn the screen off after a certain amount of time. it's in the power management settings.
