Information on 2-in-1s that work correctly with Linux

I currently run Scientific Linux 6x on a Toshiba Satellite Pro. That existing laptop is getting old and I would like to replace it with a 2-in-1. Where can I find reliable information about which 2-in-1s work correctly under Linux, any installation problems etc? I acn switch to another distro if that is part of the answer. NB I am in the UK so only products sold there are of interest.

I suspect that with some work you can get any windows 10 2n1 to work. The problems that may exist is would be common nic, wireless and input. On some of these you have to really fool the boot because some have a goofy uefi that isn't easy to modify. On some you may have to put two loaders depending on the uefi bios.

What a 2-in-1 is, and possible problems

For ondoho:
A 2-in-1 is a laptop whose screen can be detached from the keyboard and then works as a touchscreen tablet. The two means the laptop and tablet modes... The tablet mode would be especially useful if one sometimes works on trains or planes where there usually is insufficient room to comfortably use a laptop.

jefro's comments are helpful in identifying potential difficulties. I guess somewhere on the web somebody has described ways to overcome them. Any pointers?

i thought this was the standard for tablets nowadays.
i mean, some sell a perfectly fitting keyboard with their device, for some perfectly fitting keyboards are available from other companies, and for the rest you can get at least some hook-on keyboard...

If you post a specific system I might be able to provide a more concise answer. Your question is generic like can I put a 427 in a ford.

427 ??
try 429 SCJ - those are cool

by 2 in 1 i think of the Microsoft surface pro
the ARM powered tablet

the old trick of taking a bootable usb thumb drive( or dvd ) with you and TEST might be made moot by MS's SecureBoot

mind you SL 6.7 is aging and will not have much support for NEW hardware
even ScientificLinux 7.1 might have some issues

but look at the REDHAT compatibility list of known good hardware

or the list here

Or a 426 Hemi or a crate 2015 Z06 motor. Both about $15K.
