iBook G3 Battery Monitor

I just got a battery for my laptop (finally) and I was wondering how to monitor it in linux. Its an ibook g3 (so it has weird mac pmu stuff). I've installed apm and still I can't monitor anything.

I found wmbattppc with pmud a very good combination. However, they claim to only support g3/g4 computers, since g5's use SMUs and not PMUs. For g5's the linux kernel has a separate module I think.
