IBM thinkpad A31p How to enable Suspend on lid close for FC4?
I have been trying to figure out why my computer doesnt go to standby/suspend mode when I close my lid in Fedora Core 4. It used to work in redhat 9. Why is this feature no longer working? I have no other major problems with Fedora Core but it would be nice to be able to have it so that my compputer suspends when I close the lid.
any suggestions? thanx in advance, Boomba |
if your a31 is anything like my r40, you need to explicitly disable acpi and enable apm in the kernel boot options, e.g., for lilo:
append="acpi=off apm=on" make sure apmd is running and it should work. |
