I cannot install debian lenny in my computer

Hello.
I have a Sony Vaio laptop. I try to install debian lenny and also had to squeeze and will not let me. In the third step in the installation, when it detects the cd-rom I get an error message:

"Unable to mount cd-rom installation. This probably means that the cd-rom was not in the reader. If so, you can insert it and try again.
Trying to mount the cd-rom again? "

I tried it with Windows, Ubuntu and MEPIS and I have no problems, but Debian seems to be having problems with the DVD
Perhaps the problem is that now the new dvd is AHCI, and it is a matter of drivers. But do not do that. Any idea as experts?

Sure, that's easy for YOU to say.

If you tried with other distributions, and they did work out, or seemed to... then the problem might be the DVD. Maybe it is corrupted, or it did not burn right, or some other defect. If possible, run another DVD, meaning, burn it again. That's what I think could be the error, this since you say it gives you an error message regarding the CD.

Keep me updated.

Thanks,

MexDeath.

Translation:

Gracias,

MexDeath.

I have not seen such rules, and request precise evidence of their being.

Thanks,

MexDeath.

Hello again.
The dvd is Ok, because I tried it to another PCs, and is was OK. So, the problem is only with one computer, bot only with debian and Suse. I tried suse also.
Then I tried mepis, ubuntu and PCLinuxOS and was OK.
Any idea what to do?

Hey,

Now, I did some research and I came about this other page where it appears that someone else was having the same problem you're having. Now, this may, or may not be your case, just in case though, check it out: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=10393

From what I can tell, it may just be that your SuSe, and Debian are not recognizing the drivers. Have you tried any work-arounds? Like, maybe, netinstall? I think it is? I'm not a Debian user, but I know that you can also install several distributions from the Net, though I've only tried it once, with Gentoo, but failed. Reason I say this is because I'm pretty sure you can do a Netinstall with Debian as well.
