I can't get into BIOS settings on my IBM ThinkPad380ED.

Hello,
I've recently got my hands onto an laptop, old and screwed up. I wanted to change into a lightweight linux box. so the obvious thing to do is to make the computer boot off of the linux disk. I found out how to get into my boot sequence but it asks me for a password except i dont know what it is. i have ask the previous owner and he says he does not know what it is either. can anyone at all tell me how to bypass this?
And by the way, there is no OS already in it.

Did you check IBMs website? ;)
Look here for the maintenance manual. I think what you are looking for is on page 28.
