HP Pavillion dv7 standby issue.

I'm running a brand new installation of fedora 11, and so far there's only one complaint from me. Every time I put it into standby mode, when it comes out I can't input anything into it.

The only input that it reacts to is the power button, which causes the usual "shutdown suspend hibernate restart" window to popup, which is the only way I know it isn't frozen. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace doesn't restart X, The keyboard and mouse are totally dead. A reboot fixes it until the next standby.

I believe this is technically the S3 power state.

Any thoughts on what's going wrong?

Laptop model is hugely important here. Why not open a search engine (say www.google.com/linux) and pump in +<laptop brand> +suspend +keyboard or some such combination. This is a very common problem.

Well, as obvious as that is, I hadn't tried it. I got a few ubuntu threads about the same problem but it was solved with a bios upgrade. I did that, and now I have no problems at all.
