Those first three commands need to be issued separately from inside the unpacked r5u870 source folder where there should be a file called MAKEFILE. Wait for the prompt to return before issuing the next command. You have to look for files ending in .fw somewhere in that folder, they may be in another package ending in .gz or .tar.gz or .tgz and it has to be un-packed first with similar command used to unpack the first source package. If no such thing, it is also possible you have to download a separate firmware package from wherever you got the source package.

Dear
I have used them separately first and got the same result, after that I put them together and past the result in previews post!

What do you think about slack or Suse? do the have Su to switch as root and the yum for install or they have different commands?
thanks

It's possible I did not realize what stage you may be at. I assumed you had installed the kernel-devel package and attempted to compile the driver for the webcam. Keep in mind, you will have to go through similar procedure with any Linux distribution, be it SUSE, Slacware, etc. I'm on dial-up and am a little leary about downloading things I don't need, but I downloaded the r5u870-0.10.0.gz file from the link you provided, and also did some reading there.
Indeed there is a MAKEFILE and all the firmware files in the folder produced by unpacking this file, the folder is called "r5u870-0.10.0". So now I'm thinking....you need instructions to install the kernel-devel package. The best way to install any package in Fedora is with Yum, but the computer needs to be linked to the internet for Yum to work. If you have the computer on-line, issue the "yum install kernel-devel" command as suggested in the prior post as root. This way, Yum will figure out if any, what all other packages need to be installed along side of it, it will tell you which ones and ask for confirmation to go ahead and download and install them. If you are using a regular terminal or console in Fedora, you need to issue command: su-, and enter the administrator password before you can install software with Yum. If you have a super user terminal, you can just issue the Yum install command without the su- thing.
To install packages without Yum can be a long process. But if you have no connection, you have no choice. Follow the instructions below.

If you type: uname -r in a terminal, the output will be the version number of your kernel, the kernel-devel package you downloaded has to have the same number and architecture in it's name. For example, if the output of the uname -r command is 2.6.20-2925.9-686, the kernel-devel package should be similar to this -->kernel-devel-2.6.20-2925.9.fc7.i686.rpm. You would navigate to the directory the kernel-devel package is in via a terminal as super user and issue this command below to install it:
Code:
rpm -ivh kernel-devel-2.6.20-2925.9.fc7.i686.rpm
If rpm tells you it can't because of missing dependencies, it should also tell you which ones are missing which will need to be installed first, but they have to be the right version, which is why it is much better to use Yum.
Then when the kernel-devel package is installed, you navigate into the unpacked r5u870-0.10.0.gz folder called "r5u870-0.10.0" from the terminal as super user and proceed to make the module and install it following the instructions in the prior post.
You may notice that the first sentence in the prior post is telling you pretty much the same thing as this long post.
