HP Pavilion dv5000ea Wireless won't work?

I believe I have a Broadcom BCM4318 Wireless LAN. Fedora Core 6 64-bit detects this, however, I can't seem to get it to work. I've tried the Network Manager to activate it and have had no luck.

What are some simple next steps? Will I need to get as complex as recompiling the kernel?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Sincerely,
Chris

p.s. And yes, I'm a Newbie.

just post the broadcom part something like
01:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Unknown device 4311 (rev 01)

I have a BCM4306 card working in FC6 but can't remember exactly what I did now  I do recall that I needed firmware - obtained by downloading a Windows driver and using fwcutter to extract the correct file. Google for 'bcm43xx on fc6' and 'bcm43xx fwcutter'.
