i bougth hp dv1000
how can i know if it's compatible withsuse linux ver 9

You can get the laptop's spec and check if is supported at http://cdb.suse.de/?LANG=en_UK

If some elements of you laptop are not supported (e.g. sound or wifi), this does not mean that it will not work. You will just have to install and hack through it.

Also I would advise that you to install opensuse 10.1... it should work better.

If you google "hp dv1000 suse", you will find tonnes of info on installation problems/work arounds.

dv1000 update

I have a dv 1000 and it work fine o SUSE 10.1 it recongnized the wireless card although I do not have it running at this time. every thing else works great.
