HP Compaq Presario V6000 under Ubuntu Studio
I am trying to (believe [all those who just got that deserve a cookie]) get a an HP Compaq Presario V600 running under Linux. It has a Conexant HDAUDIO soundcard/modem, Intel videocard, and a bunch of other stuff I don't understand. Any luck?

To get the audio, you will need to download alsa-driver-1.0.14rc4.tar.bz2 from http://alsa-project.org at a minimum. If after installing this new driver you still have audio problems, let me know.
As to Intel Video, most recent distros will have support for the Intel integrated graphics controller. You'll need to be more specific with your question. Tobin |

For the most part, this system should work just fine with any recent Linux distro + alsa-driver-1.0.14rc4. The only thing I can see that will be a problem is the modem, which I am looking into enabling for the modem driver developers (Conexant uses a single chip for audio & modem). My driver currently doesn't enable the modem portion.

Thanks! I'll try Ubuntu tonight and post back If I have trouble.
