How to set up laptop shortcuts?

A few days ago i bought my first laptop (Toshiba a40-221 with Windows installed). I found out that i can fix the contrast, sound volume, brightness, etc in Windows with Fn+F6, F7, ... But that doesn't work with my Suse 9.0. How can i fix the contrast, etc in Linux?
