How to make my linux laptop a deticated wifi "adapter" (send all lan to wifi)

I can do it on windows with conectify. So how to do this on linux (any distro) I use slax cuz its a crappy laptop.

basically need to give my wired camera system wifi with an old laptop. using slax? I found my current os (mint 12 gnome3) suports it but mint would never fit on my old craptop

You might want to consider Mint 12 LXDE. Much lighter than Gnome3.

If being an access point is the whole purpose of the system you don't need a GUI at all. Try it with this tutorial, they are using a minimal Debian install without GUI for that.
