how to make i810's audio module to work with Acer Aspire 1682 ?
Hi folks,
I followed the following link http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...5&pagenumber=2 and had debian successfully install on my 1682. However, due to i810-audio is in the /etc/hotplug/blacklist, I am unable to get any sound in Debian.... Does anyone know a workaround to get my sound working ? Thanks for you help, James |
After the successfull installation, I upgraded the distribution, compiled a 2.6.9 kernel.
After this I removed the modules I added to the blacklist file, and it worked directly. However, I am not sure that a kernel compilation is mandatory. Clément |
guess i'll have to compile the kernel myself...
thanks, my friend :-) |
btw, do u make any special config with the "make menuconfig" ?
or u just compile the kernel with default settings ? Thanks, |
I used a good default .config file found on the web:
http://people.via.ecp.fr/~alexis/for...pil-noyau.html http://people.via.ecp.fr/~alexis/for...fig-noyau.html (sorry it is in french) you can get the file with Then I changed some options in the menuconfig according to the information given by lspci. Concerning the sound card: check the module SOUND/PCIDEVICES/"Intel/Sys/nVidia/AMD/Ali AC97 Controller" I Hope it will help you. Clément |
