Question how to disable APIC during system boot


when i boot the linux on my laptop i get those messages


oprofile: no local P6 APIC. Falling back to RTC mode.
Your CPU does not have a local APIC, e.g. moblie P6. Falling back to RTC mode.
oprofile: can't get RTC I/O Ports.
........

how can i slove this problem?

Check your /etc/lilo.conf
If you can... post it : ).

The system stoped when these messages appear in the screen, i can't login.

Try to reinstall, thats probobly the easiest thing to do... Unless you had files you needed on it : (.
P.S. What laptop and what distro?

Does your lilo or grub selection screen have a fail-safe selection? Try booting up with that.

If not, enter the option at the lilo, or grub screen ¨noapic¨.

Also, you could use the rescue feature of your first installation disk, and modify the lilo.conf´s append= lines to include the ¨noapic¨ option. For lilo you need to run /sbin/lilo again after making changes.

You didn´t include much information in your post. How many processors does your computer have?
