How to connect a Cellular to Acer netbook running on Linpus Linux Lite

Has any one come across a software that would enable connection between a mobile phone with Acer Aspire One A150 running on Linpus Linux Lite. I was told Linpus lite is based on Fedora 8.

I want to connect the Mobile phone and use it to send group text messages.

Cheers!
