How to change primary monitor on thinkpad - SuSE 9.1

Hi all,

I recently moved from SuSE 9.0 to 9.1 on my thinkpad T30 (2GHZ, 2G RAM). I have an external LCD monitor (1280x1024x60Hxz) as well as the built in panel (1024x768x60Hz). Before, when I was running 9.0 or 8.x, all was well. Now, no matter what I've tried, the laptop will only run the external panel at the internal panel's resolution - result, terrible looking fonts and headaches.

Looking at the logs, I can that the external monitor is being detected, but the resolution chosen (1280x1024) is being rejected as out of range, as the server is setting the built in panel as the primary monitor.

Is there any way to tell it to use the external monitor as the primary one?

TIA,

Paul
