How to boot fast?
Hello,
I just saw a machine named eeePC that boots very fast, which has its eee linux. However, when I use Damn Small Linux in a USB, it didn't boot very fast. It was spending time to initialize and search for devices everytime I boot. Why do they have difference like that? How eee PC can reduce the time in booting? I am very curious, could anyone explain about it? |
Using a flash based hard-drive and an optimised and specific kernel recompiled for your platform with minimal drivers installed, remove any unnecessary services from startup .
Turn off hardware detection, don't load any excess modules.. prelink your startup executables.. there is more, I just can't think of them. :) |
