I'm looking to buy a new laptop, and am considering the Sager NP7338/Clevo W230SS. I'm looking for a smooth linux install. Small issues are fine if a fix is easy to find on the web.

I've been searching the web to see how compatible the Sager NP7338 is with linux but haven't found any info :/

So, anyone know how "out- of-the-box" linux compatible it will be?

You should be able to easily get it up an running with nearly all "generic" drivers.

I have the Sager NP8255-s. And for the most part, it's up and running. Trying to get the proprietary nVidia driver however... killed one instance, requiring a re-install.

So, my next plan is to start from scratch... make two "root" partitions... one for current use and the second will be a -working- backup. That way, if I f-up something, I plan on restoring from that backup. Should save some time over constantly re-running a FULL Slackware install.
