How do I disable probing for floppy drive

I am running FC1 on a Compaq Presario 2585. I finally got the GD thing up and running with all the bells and whistles, but one little problem remains. When I boot up or shut down I get error messages related to probing for the floppy drive...meaning I don't have a floppy drive in my laptop and it complains about it. Where do I go and what do I change to stop the computer from probing for the floppy drive? Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try adding "alias floppy off" to /etc/modules.conf
