How do I access /etc/pcmcia/config on install?

I'm attempting to install RH9 on a Fujitsu Lifebook 535Tx. But before I perform a network install I need to get my Belkin F5D5020 NIC working at the beginning of the install process. I've already created a bootimg floppy, a PCMCIA img floppy, and drvnet img floppy. However, my card still is not recognized even after I select the pcnet_cs driver, which is supposed to work with it. Per the many searches I've done, this is what I'm instructed to do in order to get the car recognized:

Insert the F5D5020 adapter in the PCMCIA or Cardbus slot in the notebook, and reboot the system. If the file /etc/pcmcia/config exists, add following lines in this file:

card "Belkin-5020"
version "Belkin" , "F5D5020-PCMCIA-Network-Card"
bind "pcnet_cs"

Now here's the million dollar question: How do I access and edit the /etc/pcmcia/config file at the beginning of the install process (can I), in order to make these changes and get my card recognized?

For anyone who can make this crystal clear to me I say "May it be an hour in heaven before the devil knows you're dead!"

man, i think we were the only to on this planet tryiny to do a network installation with this alien card(belkin 5020).
what i got so far was creat a floppy boot disk. then load the driver for pcmcia first, then load the driver for network card second. then your belkin's light should come up.
and here is when i got stock. it seems that you got to pass irq and io address to pcnet_cs. but i just don't know how.
hope this makes you feel better
