HL-DT-ST model GU10N DVD burner no longer detected after ejection
I've been searching everywhere for a report of this- I run Karmic on an Acer 4810TZ laptop. When I eject a CD, my CD drive is no longer detected. Everything runs fine up to that point, and when I reboot, the drive is there again. I can't seem to find information on whether this is a driver issue or a user error, but can someone enlighten me on this?

What desktop are you using? Is karmic a name for Ubunu 9.10? If so, the ubuntu forums would be a good place to look.
Also, is the cdrom listed in your /etc/fstab? If not try adding it: /dev/sr0 /media iso9660 \(cont'd) user, noauto, suid,rw 0 0. Adjust /dev* and /media* for your system. Are you using an automounter? If so, is it being unmounted before ejecting? Tom (retired penguin) |

Did you found the solution to your problem. I have exactly the same trouble on the same machine (4810T) with windows XP (Maybe a linux solve can bring me on the right way) Thanks JB |
