hibernate mode
 
could anyone give me a hint how to put my computer into hibernate mode?
I've a gentoo linux distr and emerged acpi and acpid...do I have to install something else?

hibernate may work or not, depending on your hardware. It works using swsusp. The only time I've got it running OK, was the time I installed and compiled it myself (swsusp2 in fact) into my own kernel.
