Megrain LQ Newbie Registered: Mar 2004 Location: South Africa Distribution: Slackware,Fedora,Suse,CentOS Posts: 14 Rep:	HELP Needed Mandrake 9 on Proline EG8 HI I have a Proline EG8 Notebook Spec: 1.8 Ghz Mobile P4 512 MB Kinston Ram DDR 266 40 Gig IBM Hard Drive QSI CDRW Combo Stiffy Ali Chipset Realtec 8139 Network Card Firewire Conexant Sound Card AC97 Software Modem Com1 and LPT and VGA Output The thing is I installed mandrake 9.1 once and it worked fine until i had to config the gui of Gnome (first time used Wizard). the system stalled and didn't startup again. then I formated the system and loaded it again but with the gui included in the install. now the system start but freezes @ the bootup when i us the Esc key the system goes in a loop with a greate amount of addresses and doesn't stop at all. what can I do to fix this ? I install mandrake 8 and upgraded the same error happens and radhat 7.1 aslo.
