Help! need driver for phillips wireless pcmcia card!!
I need a driver for my phillips snn6500 wireless netcard
or smc2632 wireless net card I can`t make them run on linpus linux lite please help regards Nicky |
You'll probably need to install the madwifi drivers, see here for more info:
http://linux-wless.passys.nl/query_p...ndname=Philips |
Now I have the madwifi-20060331 exe file on the linpus desktop, but
when I right click on it and choose execute, nothing happens. I olso have a xf86 svga.exe file for my gfx, same thing, nothing happens. :-( When I right click and say properties, it comes up with the name, kind of file(exe) But where it says open with: noaplication selected. I dont know wich program to choose SO Help is needed :-) Thanks Nicky I`m very new to Linux |
I don't know much about Linpus, but it seems to be Fedora based, so download the rpm and try to install it:
http://madwifi-project.org/wiki/UserDocs/GettingMadwifi |
how do I open/install the rpm file?
|
See here:
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/RPM-HOWTO/use.html Hopefully Linpus at least has a terminal / console app maybe konsole, gnome-terminal, xterm, so either use sudo or su to gain more privileges if necessary, then install the rpm as said above. Now, I don't run Linpus, and I have no clue how things are done on it, so it's best that someone help you that knows about it, otherwise I may be way off base with my answers ... |
