Help me please- Can't reinstall NVIDIA drivers after kernel update

I am a total newbie. I have recently installed Red Hat 9.0 on my Dell Inspiron 8100. After installing and with help from this forum I downloaded the new NVIDIA drivers (4363) for my Gforce2go video card. Everything worked great until I figured I should install the critical updates that the red hat up2date said I should install. I then attempted to reinstall the new NVIDIA drivers as my drivers were set back to the old nv driver. I get the installer running and then get an error message that it can't reinstall or reconfigure because it cannot find the source code. Question as the rpm source-kernel (from the original install CD's) which is mentioned in the error message is not installed should I install this even though I have updated the kernel? I probably should never have updated the kernel, but the up2date said that there were critical updates so I beleived it. Any light you could shed would be helpful. Frank

get the NVIVIA driver that end with .run, and after u installed kernel... reboot, don't try to get into the xserver... cuz NVIDIA-kernel isn't loaded yet, so run NVIDIA<something>.run before entering Xserver, reinstall it.... then after that.. u should able to get in

if up2date updated your kernel, then not only will you have to reinstall drivers for that specific kernel, you'll need to get and install the kernel's source code. and as stated by henry, don't try to install the nvidia drivers while running X. it won't work.
