No, Linpus is a joke, nearly nothing works, it is mostly there to take up space.

I have extensively read about various Linux distros online and installed most of the major ones. I have never heard of Linpus. The best Linux Distro I have found for out of the box driver support is Mepis. I currently use 6.0 on my laptop. There have been two updated versions since then, 6.5 and 7.0. I dual boot with Xp. I have never had any problems dual booting. But if you are leary, Mepis is a live CD. That means on modern computers that automatically check for a bootable cd in the cd rom, that you can put the Mepis cd (or any other Linux Live CD) in the cd rom and restart the computer and you will launch into the Linux program. Note on Mepis 6.5 the default option is to install. Make sure you choose live cd at the beginning. Good luck!
