Help me get my touchpad to work on an Inspiron 8200


Im running mandrake 9.1 and I cant get my damn touchpad to work for the life of me. So any help would be great. Ohh and can you make how to do it a very easy step by n00bie step process.

Most touch-pads are really just PS/2 devices. When you install Mandrake, is it not recognised? Can you use your touch-pad during installation?

i didnt try i had a mouse at that time and wasnt using the pad. now i tried to use it cause im not gunna have a mouse and it dosent work oh well.

what kind of mouse are you using? a usb mouse? and is your touchpad a synaptics touchpad (my guess is yes, since it's a dell inspiron)?
