Smile having trouble finding drivers

I own a hp pavillion dv1000 (running i386), I am having trouble finding drivers, I want to try and find a linux distro that can run rpm's. If anyone can point me in the right direction, thanks for your time...

Fedora Core 3 (and, I suppose, 4) has been loaded on that machine. At least, according to it has.

Sadly, that seems to be a dead link.

However, a simple google on 'hp DV 1000 linux' came up with various sites, e.g.

(sadly this describes the currently trendy Ubuntu installation, not an rpm distro).

One link even suggested doing a search at somewhere called ''
