Grub on Asus EEE PC

When I boot my Asus EEE PC 1005HA, I get the following:

GRUB loading.
error: no such partition
grub rescue>

I need to be able to run Windows 7 startup repair, but Grub starts before the screen that allows you to access the BIOS appears. Because of this, I can't boot from CD. What should I do?

Welcome to LQ rtully

now, err thats grub2?
Grub starts before the screen that allows you to access the BIOS appears.
I've never heard of the grub screen loading before BIOS
maybe BIOS screen goes by too fast?

so your dual booting 7 and buntu and suddenly grub just didnt load?
please be more specific

Grub starts before the screen that allows you to access the BIOS appears.
You just have some ASUS feature to accelerate loading enabled. If you want to get to BIOS setup, start your EEE PC and repeatedly press F2.

The F2 option doesn't appear to work, or at least not fast enough to do anything before Grub starts.

Hey Rtully, did you ever get this sorted? I am having the same problem, I get to GRUB error 22 so quick F2 doesn't get me to bios, ever.

Oh just got my speed-clicking finger in the zone and managed it 20th time, nm! Phew. One shouldn't delete partitions while watching TV, sigh.
