gpilot fails to synchronise todo or calendar
I'm running gpilot (2.0.12) to synchronise my Palm Tungsten T2, which has worked until now. Now I can no longer synchronise to do's or calendar.
Here is a log of the messages gpilotd produces: gpilotd-Message: gnome-pilot 2.0.12 starting... gpilotd-Message: compiled for pilot-link version 0.11.8 gpilotd-Message: compiled with [VFS] [USB] [IrDA] [Network] gpilotd-Message: Activating CORBA server gpilotd-Message: bonobo_activation_active_server_register = 0 gpilotd-Message: Watching Cradle (/dev/pilot) gpilotd-Message: Found 4766, 0001 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0502, 0736 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 091e, 0004 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 082d, 0100 gpilotd-Message: Using net FALSE gpilotd-Message: Found 082d, 0200 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 082d, 0300 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0001 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0002 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0003 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0020 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0031 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0040 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0050 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0060 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0070 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 0830, 0080 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 04e8, 8001 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 04e8, 6601 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 0038 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 0066 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 0095 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 009a gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 00c9 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 00da gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 00e9 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 0144 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 054c, 0169 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: Found 12ef, 0100 gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: setting PILOTRATE=115200 gpilotd-Message: Cradle Cradle has 0 events gpilotd-Message: Instantiating 1 conduits... ecalconduit-Message: in calendar's conduit_get_gpilot_conduit gpilotd-Message: Instantiated 0 backup conduits, 0 file conduits, 1 other conduits gpilotd-Message: HotSync button pressed, synchronising pilot gpilotd-Message: Pilot ID is 22494, name is t2, owner is t2 gpilotd-Message: Pilot has 0 entries in restore queue gpilotd-Message: Pilot has 0 entries in conduit queue ecalconduit-Message: --------------------------------------------------------- ecalconduit-Message: pre_sync: Calendar Conduit v.0.1.6 ecalconduit-Message: Using timezone: UTC (gpilotd:19520): gpilotd-WARNING **: Synchronization failed! gpilotd-Message: Synchronisation ended I can't see any obvious cause of the problem. I'm having the same problem
I have the same problem on FC3 when syncing to a Treo 650. Contacts
and Todo sync ok (although I recently had a sync that generated many blank Todo entries. Syncing from desktop to pilot fixed the Todo problem which may or may not have happened at the same time as the Calendar sync broke. I didn't notice). In any event, Calendar sync used to work in FC3 with this device. I don't get any error messages in Evolution or on the device and both say hotsync was successful. Nothing too helpful in /var/log/messages. evolution 2.0.2-3 gnome-pilot-2.0.12-4 gnome-pilot-conduits-2.0.12-3 My gpilotd output for the calendar conduit looks like this: ecalconduit-Message: --------------------------------------------------------- ecalconduit-Message: pre_sync: Calendar Conduit v.0.1.6 ecalconduit-Message: Using timezone: /softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York (gpilotd:6476): gpilotd-WARNING **: Synchronization failed! Not very helpful. :( Did you ever make any progress with this? Regards, Joe |
Joe,
I'm currently running FC3 too. My problems started around the time I upgraded to Evolution 2.0.2 but don't know if thats related or just coincidence. I'm currently scanning all my logs for any clue as to what the reason for the failure is but no luck so far. I've tried doing a one-time synchronise from my dekstop to my T2 but that doesn't work either. I've just posted my problem to the gnome-pilot mailing list and am waiting for any replies. Do you know if there is any way to increase the detail level of messages issued by gpilot? Regards, Paul. |
I was finally able to get my Evolution Calendar to hotsync with my Treo
650. It looks like there was some corruption in my calendar.ics that was breaking the conduit. For the record, I don't really know what I'm doing. If you try my suggestion, BE SURE TO BACK UP your .evolution directory or at least the directories under .evolution (calendar, etc.) and your Palm pilot. That being said, Kill evo from the command line: evolution --force-shutdown open /home/youruser/.evolution/calendar/local/system/calendar.ics with your favorite text editor. I found these bogus entries at the end: BEGIN:VEVENT UID:20050130T211935Z-12074-0-5148-1128@localhost.localdomain DTSTAMP:20050130T211719Z LAST-MODIFIED:20050130T211935 DTSTART;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 DTEND;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 CLASS:PRIVATE SEQUENCE:1 CREATED:20050130T211935 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT UID:20050130T211935Z-12074-0-5148-1129@localhost.localdomain DTSTAMP:20050130T211719Z LAST-MODIFIED:20050130T211935 DTSTART;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 DTEND;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 CLASS:PRIVATE SEQUENCE:1 CREATED:20050130T211935 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT UID:20050130T211935Z-12074-0-5148-1130@localhost.localdomain DTSTAMP:20050130T211719Z LAST-MODIFIED:20050130T211935 DTSTART;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 DTEND;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 CLASS:PRIVATE SEQUENCE:1 CREATED:20050130T211935 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT UID:20050130T211936Z-12074-0-5148-1131@localhost.localdomain DTSTAMP:20050130T211719Z LAST-MODIFIED:20050130T211936 DTSTART;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 DTEND;TZID=/softwarestudio.org/Olson_20011030_5/America/New_York: 20271230T000000 CLASS:PRIVATE SEQUENCE:1 CREATED:20050130T211936 END:VEVENT Notice they are missing some fields ("SUMMARY") and the DTSTART and DTEND is 20271230T000000. Making sure you only delete between the proper BEGIN and END values, delete these entries. Open evolution, start gpilotd if it's not already running and try a hotsync. If it still doesn't work, you may need to delete calendar.ics-pilot-sync-evolution-calendar-xxxxx.db and pilot-map-calendar-xxxx.xml from the same folder. Also delete CalendarDB-PDa and DatebookDB on your Palm device and do a "Copy to Pilot". Hope this helps. Regards, Joe Easley |
Treo 600 fails to sync with evolution after upgrade from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3
Hi,
I am having some problems trying to syncing my address book and calendar after I have upgraded my evolution from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3. The error says "unknown conduit", this error comes when the Treo 600 is trying to syncronise the calendar. I am not sure if anyone out there has the same problem? Thanks. |
Hi,
same problem here on evolution 2.2.3 on FC4 with Palm T5. i checked the calendar.ics file, it looks health. I want to try follow steps: If it still doesn't work, you may need to delete calendar.ics-pilot-sync-evolution-calendar-xxxxx.db and pilot-map-calendar-xxxx.xml from the same folder. Also delete CalendarDB-PDa and DatebookDB on your Palm device and do a "Copy to Pilot". Hope this helps. Quote:
How to remove CalendarDB-PDa and DatebookDB on your Palm device? Thanks |
hi all,
i cannot sync calendar and adresses using evolution 2.4.1 under ubuntu 5.10. the sync terminates without exception or warning, but no data is transferred from palm to evolution: the following log shows the output of a sync with only address- and calendar-conduit enabled (both copy from palm): gpilotd-Message: Using net TRUE gpilotd-Message: setting PILOTRATE=115200 (gpilotd:14906): gpilotd-WARNING **: Es kann keine Verbindung zu Pilot hergestellt werden. gpilotd-Message: setting PILOTRATE=115200 gpilotd-Message: Docking-Station PalmUSB hat 0 Ereignisse gpilotd-Message: Instantiating 2 conduits... ecalconduit-Message: in calendar's conduit_get_gpilot_conduit eaddrconduit-Message: in address's conduit_get_gpilot_conduit gpilotd-Message: Instantiated 0 backup conduits, 0 file conduits, 2 other conduits gpilotd-Message: HotSync-Knopf gedrückt, Pilot wird synchronisiert gpilotd-Message: Pilot-Kennung ist 17403, Name ist MyPilot, Besitzer ist Jakob Br\xe4uchi gpilotd-Message: Pilot has 0 entries in restore queue gpilotd-Message: Pilot has 0 entries in conduit queue gpilotd-Message: Synchronisation beendet gpilotd-Message: setting PILOTRATE=115200 (gpilotd:14906): gpilotd-WARNING **: pi_accept_to: Die Wartezeit für die Verbindung ist abgelaufen (gpilotd:14906): gpilotd-WARNING **: pi_accept_to: timeout was 40 secs gpilotd-Message: Beenden (SIGINT empfangen) none of these conduits seems to work. memo- and todo-conduits are ok. jakob |
hi all,
