to write raw data to a disk you us the utility dd from the console

example
Code:
 dd if=disk-image-file.wtf of=/dev/sda1
"if" stands for in file
"of" stands for out file

there are lots of neat things which can be done w/ dd

such as copying a cd
Code:
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=cdrom-file.iso

dd if=haret-0.5.1.exe of=/dev/sdb2
dd: opening `haret-0.5.1.exe': No such file or directory

dd if=bootldr-1.2.5-hp.rom of=/dev/sdb2
dd: opening `bootldr-1.2.5-hp.rom': No such file or directory

These files are downloaded to the download folder and this is the response I am getting can somone tell me what I am doing wrong please.
