Question Fujitsu Stylistic LT

Any one tried linux on one of these. I just bought on e-bay.

I have managed to load an old version of Slackware (kernel 2.2.1 I believe) (because I had the CDs laying around) and now I am wondering what I am going to use for real? Should I just upgrade to the latest Slackware or something else.

BTW. I tried RedHat 7.? (again, I had the disks laying around) and it would not boot. But since I don't know much about grub, I went back to Slackware and booted with lilo (I needed the linear option with lilo)

Anyone had success with these boxes?

Smile Since noone cares, I'll talk with myself

upgraded to Slack 9.1

Went pretty smoothly. I used Bare.i kernel and load the apm module, that seems to work. even the suspend button on the panel works.

The only hassle I had was with my Wireless Net Card. The PCMCIA slot seemed to work out of the box but the driver for the NetGear MA401 needed to be recompiled (source provided by netgrear). And they had a few compatibility problems in thier code, they were using kfree_s to delete memory and is no longer in the 2.4.22 kernel. I converted those to kfree. Looked to me like this would be ok since the old kfree_s code was primarily different in that it would do a little more checking. Seems to work, I hope. The other problem is that it claims to be a "tainted" module because it lack a GPL license. should I worry?

I on to getting the screen and pen to work.....
