Fujitsu Siemens Amilo 1645 - Sound and Networking Probs

Hello everyone...

Hope someone is able to help me with this prob I have..

Recently installed Suse 10 on my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo 1645 and everything works fine except for the sound...

The on board sound chip is the SIS SI7012.. Ive tried using YAST to set this up and also Alsa but all I get when it tries to play any sound is just jumping slow music...

Cant really explain the sound description any better than that sorry..

Any suggestions would be much appriciated.... Thanks!

not getting anywhere with this... I have tried severql installations of Suse 10 and also attempted Fedora Core 4.. they install fine however the same problems exist.

Cant play sound, cant use wireless and it turns out I cant even use the ethernet card...

My next attempt is to try ndiswrapper for my ethernet card and another set of wireless drivers for WLAN....

So far not impressed with Fujitsu's hardware compatibility....but I really want linux installed on my laptop...

If anyone has any suggestions that would be a great help!

Cheers

Im determinied im going ot get this working... however some other brains might be helpful...

Quick update....

I managed to get Suse10 installed again and yet again, Sound Network and Wireless dont seem to work. Audio and Network is identified correctly however I dont seem to be able to connect via network....

wireless I used ndiswrapper and installed Gemtek version of of the drivers (Broadcom and Gemtek are the same drivers ive confirmed and compared this but also tried the 2 different downloads..) yet again this doesnt seem to connect to my wireless router.

Just to confirm that my router is workin correctly... Ive also got a base unit with a Belkin Wireless Network card (PCI) again using Ndiswrapper as driver...Works perfectly....(also a suse 10 build)

'lscpi' output.........
