I have a dell 600m and i can't get the pcmcia card slot working can anyone point me in the right direction? I installed off from the dvd iso thats on there website. the installation went great but i just can't get the dam pcmcia slot working. I have tried knoppix and it works it works in gentoo and it worked in freebsd but for some reason i can't get it to work. I really would like this to work for the fact i have to use it to setup a wap using it.

Given the information you provided: http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/

why don't you

1. Look at the output of "lsmod" in knoppix.

2.If there is a module called "pcmcia-blabla" loaded, then copy down that name,

3. boot into mandrake and

4. enter (as root) "modprobe pcmcia-blabla".

If the module exists in /lib/modules/whatever/ it should load up. If pcmcia works after that then just enter the name of that modules in the file "/etc/modules.conf" so it loads whenever you boot.
