Fedora freezing up when ejecting ultrabay slim in T42.

Hi, I have a T42 thinkpad (IBM) notebook and what I am trying to do is to eject the ultrabay so that I can put another hard drive or the CD/RW+DVD combo back in without having to restart the system.

I followed the detail in th following link "How_to_hotswap_UltraBay_devices" in thinkwiki but unfortunately as I try the command # echo eject > /proc/acpi/ibm/bay I see the power in the bay go off, but my entire computer freezes.

PLEASE HELP! I am getting bald trying to figure this one out.

I am running Fedora Core 6 Test 3, with kernel 2.6.17-1.2647.fc6 if that helps.

Thanks!
