Fedora Core 5 on laptop with 915GM
You see, I'm trying to install Fedora Core 5 on a laptop (Alienware Sentia m3200). Here are the specs:
915GM chipset 1 GB RAM (2 DIMMS) 100GB 5400 RPM HD 1280x800 display on Intel GMA 900 SD card slot (I believe this is tied to a USB port so that's not a problem) Now, I would like to install FC5 as I already said. I would also like a dual-boot but that's not requisite right now (though I wouldn't resent some help there). I've started the install a couple times, finished it once. The trouble was, the graphics were corrupted (I ran the install in text mode). Even at the regular installer, it had lots of black and not much GUI. I was directed to 915resolution by someone. A. Is there a way to install the gfx driver and 915resolution before the install or otherwhise get the GUI install working? B. Just how do I get the durn gfx working after the install. (from command line)? I have all the drivers and such on the comp. |
Did you apply maintenance after the install? The problem may already be resolved.
