Fedora Core 2 Toshiba 8100 sound ymfpci
I have a Toshiba 8100 laptop and have been enjoying sounds and mvies for the past two years. Recently I decided to update the software and installed Fedora Core 2. My sound no longer works ( thus movies aren't much fun).
On the alsa web site they say the driver for the Yamaha 744 does not play sound on the Toshiba 8100.
Question, has anyone figured away around this situation.
My thoughts are go back ( not happy about that). Install OSS. Give up on the sound.....
I do alot of consulting and love to show off my laptop with linux doing everything a windows based machine can do and more!
cheers

ps: My Machine is a Toshiba Tecra 8100 with a Yamaha 744 sound chip. I only have linux on the machine it is Fedora Core 2- not yet updated.
