Fedora Core 1 Installer Doesn't Start
I recently downloaded the first CD of the Fedora Core 1 Installation discs, intending to do a network installation. I put the CD in my drive, and start the computer. It boots up and asks me for any options I would like passed to the kernel. The first time, I typed, linux askmethod. It went through the usual boot process with messages and what not, but when the installer is supposed to show up, my screen is completely blank. I tried hitting enter and tab a few times, and my activity LED lights up, but there's no installer. Even the text installer doesn't start up. This isn't the first distribution this has happened on. I tried to install RH 7.1 a while back and it wouldn't work. I also tried to install RH 9 and it has the same installer problem. RH 8 works perfectly, and I have never had any problems with it. I really need to update my redhat though, and it's becoming quite frusterating. I'm fairly new to linux, but am very farmiliar and adept with Windows, which I dislike very greatly. My laptop has the following specifications:
ACER TRAVELMATE 202T
CPU: Intel Celeron 649MhZ
RAM: 64 MB SDRAM
HDD: 5 GB IBM
LDC: Generic Laptop Display
Graphics: ATI Rage Mobility 4 MB
Soundcard: ALi M54541 (ALSA Driver listing)
32x CDROM
2 USB PORTS
2 PCMCIA SLOTS (One of which has my Linksys 10/100 FastEthernet PCI card in it)
Any help is greatly apreciated.
Thanks!
