Exclamation Fedora 9 on Dell screen size

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone out there has installed Fedora 9 on a dell? I have the Inspiron E1405 laptop with a Screen: 14.1" size. I notice that my icons next to the time are cut of or don't display well.

Here are my stats on the video card.
1024x768
hardware is Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

My 2 questions....
1. Does FC9 already come with the 915resolution installed? That's what I use to run when I was on FC8.

2. Is there something better then the drivers I have current on my laptop to make it better like the icons appearing more clear?

Thanks for your help.

If you install the intel graphics driver (xserver-xorg-video-intel) you can forget about 915resolution.

I suggest you have a look at the following links -

On the intel driver:
http://intellinuxgraphics.org/documentation.html

On using xrandr to change resolution, switch screen orientation and more:
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Xorg_RandR_1.2

And here, something from the Debian Wiki that I found useful:
http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12

Hope this helps!
