Installed fc5 on my clone laptop. Everything works great including wireless card ipw2200 except I have no sound. It worked out of the box with fc4 . I have attached /root/scsound.log if anyone can help.

I honestly can't believe the Fedora project sometimes. They jumped major kernel revs & alsa revs during beta (last beta I tested had alsa 1.0.10).

Ranting aside, try downloading alsa 1.0.11RC4. It is more stable, and had some tweeks that you didn't get in FC5. The only other thing I could suggest is to check the volume settings with alsamixer (in a console window). Make sure that the gui sound volume manager isn't loaded, as it can conflict with alsamixer.

I had the same problem in all fedora cores except fc5. What you should try to do(as it worked for me) is add 'snd-intel8x0m' to /etc/hotplug/blacklist (without quotes). Reboot, then test.
