Fedora 10 hangs


Fedora 10 hangs after some time it stops responding. To restart power button has to be reset.My laptop config is 64 bit AMD processor AMD TURION (integrated on motherboard)graphics card.
I am unable to install xampp 1.7.1/1.7.2 while installing stop responding.PLz help....

I have a very similar box. What are the error messages?

There are no error messages it just hangs and i have to restart it.....

That, my friend, is a 64 bit box like mine. Are you loading a 32 bit OS?
I would expect to see you loading Fedora-X86_64

Linux is not windows. Freezeups don't just happen - they are caused. Try
the command
less /var/log/messages and in the paged display type /error. look for sommething before a reboot and post it if you find it.

AS u have Said i have installed 32 bit fedor10 on 64 bit processor is that a problem is there any way to fix it without installing Fedora-X86_64 plz help..... these are error messages i have found after i typed /var/log/messages

Yes, that's the problem. The only thing you can do is to do a good install of the 64 bit OS, which you should have gone with during the first installation.

Install the right software, and your problems will go away.
