FC2 on an eMachines M6805

I recently purchaced an eMachined M6805 laptop. It has an AMD Athlon64 3000+. I downloaded the ISOs for FC2 on the x86_64 archetecture and ran mediachecks on them on my normal, Athlon XP 2000+ based desktop. All of the CDs passed the check.

When I booted the laptop with the first CD, I noticed that the FC2 logo was not present on the first screen you see while it was on the i386 install. I pressed <Enter> to start the install. When the screen came up for the mediacheck, the install program did not respont to any of my keystrokes. I tried booting with the noprobe option, but encountered the same problem. I then tried booting with the option that asks you questions, but it still did not respond to my keystokes.

I noticed that while it was booting, a bunch of lines that started with something .c appeared that I had not seen when I installed FC2 on my AthlonXP desktop. I am not able to see what the lines say since they fly by so quickly. If I knew of a way to pause the text or read a log afterwards (I know you can do this if it is installed) I could give you more details.

I decided to try installing FC2 for i386, but it hung when the mediacheck was loading up, leaving me with a blue screen with the text at the bottom.

How can I get FC2 to install on my laptop?
