fc14 + broadcom 4312 - wireless lan firmware missing
 

I recently installed FC14 on a laptop Dell 1501 fine, the Dell has a broadcom 4311 controller. After installing fc14 on my Compaq netbook, which has the broadcom 4312 chip I get the message 'wireless lan firmware missing', did I not install something I should have or do I need to find the firmware somewhere else?

No, you're not missing anything. Due to Broadcom's licensing, nobody can distribute the firmware that the b43 driver needs to function. There are decent instructions here for how to install firmware. As an alternative, both those drivers will function with Broadcom's sta driver which doesn't require additional firmware.
