Fan goes bazurk on my Macbook

Dear all,

Greetings my name is Lawrence, I have a macbook white 2.1 with dual boot OSX Ubuntu. I really like Ubuntu and actually prefere it to the capitalist Apple now, however have some probs.

When I am using Ubuntu, I notice that the fan on the macbook goes basurk, it just keeps on frantically going on full acceleration, as though the computer were over heating or something, and it is not even when doing anything very demanding, writing in open office for example.

It was like this this morning, so I booted into OSX and then once open and in the desktop, the fan slowed down and then totolly stoped to the normal Mac silance of no fan on (one thing that I do really like about the macbook is the silance and minimal use of fan).

Please help me if there is anything that can be done. And please be aware that although I would like to learn, I am not aquanted with using terminals and codes etc, unles someone explains it step by step to me.

Thanks a lot.

Lawrence.

All of those address various issues with the fan running overtime on a MacBook with respect to Mac OS. But the issues are generic. The following link is on the ubuntu help site and talks about a module that allows control of fan speed -- https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ma...%20Fan%20Speed.
