"Failed to claim resource" and "platform device creation failed" when trying to boot Linux from USB on HP laptop
So I'm trying to create a bootable Linux USB for my HP laptop for class. I've tried Fedora, Mint, and a couple others on different USBs. I've gotten it to boot with Mint before, but in the quest to get wifi to work with it, I ended up messing it up. Trying to get it to boot gets me to the menu where it asks for Live Mode or something else. When I select Live Mode, it tries to start, then it shows:
0.232546 platform MST0101:00: failed to claim resource 1
0.232686 acpi MSFT0101:00: platform device creation failed: -16
Then a multicolored loading bar appears at the bottom, but stops a third of the way. Help please? I have like 4 days before my homework is due, and I'd rather not use a Virtualbox on my desktop, since it works super slow. Thank you.
