Failed access perfctr msr (MSR c0010004 is 0)


Did you guys ever have a problem like "[0.400114] Failed access perfctr msr (MSR c0010004 is 0)" after you finish install debian 8?? How to fix it?

Are you running Debian in a virtual machine? If so, which virtualisation program and version, and which host system and version?

Yes, VMware Workstation 12 Pro 12.1.1 build-3770994.

if you ask me which host system and version? i dunno about that. how to check that?

Which operating system are you running VMWare under?

Oowh, Debian 8.8 amd64 on VMWare. My main os is Windows 10 Pro 64bit

if you ask me my spec.
Ryzen 5 2500U, 8GB RAM

Thanks. In that case, the terminology is that Windows 10 is your host system, Debian 8.8 your guest system.
