Question erroneous touchpad behavior

Worked fine on 2.6.10 kernel, however with the 2.6.11.6 its odd:
I don't know what I forgot to add in kernel compile cause when I launch x the mouse just stays at 0,0 and does not move. If I do a 'modprobe psmouse' I get back functionality.

Here's the interesting part; when I don't have the mouse plugged in, a single tap is read as a double tab, i.e. lets say in fluxbox I right button for menu and I tap on the touchpad for xterm, I get two xterms poping up. I can't drag with double tap since this now shades the windows
Two of everything pops up.

Am I modprobing the right driver module?

lol theres this little thingee on the site called troubleshooting.....
I had to add /sbin/rmmod psmouse, /sbin/modprobe -v psmouse, modprobe evdev to my /etc/rc.d/rc.local

psmouse and evdev were conflicting.
