emachines m5310, Redhat 9 & ACPI
I'm new to using linux and so far have had a bit of a nightmare getting certain things to run.
So far i have established that i'll be able to use it for what i need, so now i need to tackle the acpi issue.
Can anybody give me any tips how i can get this running (in as simple terms as possible because its still all greek to me) and what parts i can get working.
I'd be happy with just being able to slow the processor down a bit because i'm terrified that i'm going to bake my computer. Its blowing some serious hot air out of the back of here permenantly. it would be also nice to get the battery meter running.
thank you for any advice you can give me, i appreciate everybodys help on here. You've gor me this far, otherwise i'd have probably given up on it!!!
